HEATING AND AIR PRODUCTS

Pro Cool Heating And Air is always looking for the best products in the industry that improve our customers health and Quality of life. Quality of life can be improved in several ways and one way is to own a newer, more efficient air conditioning and or heating system. The equipment that we offer has the best warranties available in our industry and this is the peace of mind that our customers deserve. These systems have standard lifetime warranties on compressors and heat exchangers. Purchasing a new HVAC system can pay for itself in just a few years and you can benefit from those savings every year thereafter. That is why we choose to install the Amana brand for our customers.

Did you know that replacing your old manual thermostat with a programmable thermostat can save you $$$ hundreds of dollars a year. Installing and correctly setting up a programmable thermostat can save you 10% to 20% a month on your electric or gas bill, depending on usage. We have several types of programmable thermostats from basic to touch screen programmable (changes from heating and cooling cycles automatically) to the latest communicating thermostats that constantly monitor your heating and cooling system.

Everyone has heard that indoor air can be up to 9 times more polluted than the air outside. This is true because pollutants become trapped in our homes. Newer homes are more sealed then homes built in the past. This is both good and bad news for you. It’s good because of the lesser cost to heat and cool your home and bad because the air inside is more polluted. Most cheap throwaway filters from the store cannot catch the particles in the air that cause health problems and they do a poor job at catching particles below 3 microns. (a micron is 1 millionth of a meter) Merv ( minimum efficiency reporting value) is the industry standard test used for measuring filter efficiency. Most throwaway filters are merv 8 and below. Take a look at this merv rating chart. The idea is to find a high efficient filtration system that isn’t to air restrictive and that isn’t too costly to install. We believe that we have found this type of system. It is a merv 14 on the chart and it is less restrictive than a merv 8. This filtration system fits in a regular one inch slot and cost only pennies a year to operate.

We also offer a permanent 94% electrostatic filter. This filter comes with a lifetime warranty. Never again will you have to worry about forgetting to buy filters at the store, buying the right filter size or if your heating and air company has the right filter on their truck. This will be the last filter you will ever need to buy. The electrostatic filter increases its efficiency as it loads.

The micro-power guard catches most allergens and particulates in the air we breathe but it cannot catch viruses, bacteria and other smaller infectious agents. These types of agents have to be killed by ultraviolet light. Ultra violet light is used in hospitals, schools and other places to help control the spread of illnesses and infections. Installing an ultraviolet light in your duct system in combination with the micro-power guard filtration system ensures that you will have the cleanest indoor air quality in your home.

Humidity is also important to control in order to be comfortable in your home. During the summer months-the air conditioner is controlling humidity only when it’s operating and hot enough outside to operate most of the day. What about at night or during the cooler times of the year when it’s only 70 degrees. Have you ever felt hot inside your house on a cool day and wanted to turn down the thermostat only to find that the thermostat reads 70 degrees in your home. The reason is because the humidity is higher. The air conditioner is not needed to cool the air but something is needed to remove the excess moisture from the air. This excessive moisture can also be a breeding ground for mold, mildew, and bacteria. You should consider installing a whole house de-humidifier in your duct system.

Humidity is also important for heating and air. The colder the air is outside the less moisture it can hold and the humidity falls to uncomfortable levels in your home. When the air is dry in your home it pulls moisture out of everything in it-including you. That is why you will wake up with dry eyes, nose and throat. You may experience having dry skin in the winter months. These issues may lead to allergy problems and sinus infections. You should consider installing a whole house humidifier in your duct system. You will notice that you feel comfortable with the thermostat at a much lower temperature setting in the heating mode and that you feel a lot better waking up in the morning because of the humidity being controlled.
